Broodmares
Our Broodmares are carefully selected, first as performance ponies and then they are used for breeding - they are not bred every year.
and often have a foal one year and show again the next.
These are proven performance ponies as driving and show hunter ponies. Many have successes in both diciplines.
All our broodmares have been bred, raised, trained and shown here at Beaverwood Farm. We do offer custom made programs where you can choose a mare and stallion and pre-order your resulting foal for next year.

Beaverwoods Birchley
15.1 hh Dun Welsh Cob Sec. D x STB (Hafeal Brenin x Glencoe Bonnie) This mare has truly been the best horse any owner could have. Birchley was born at Beaverwood May 8, 1987. As a two year old she had already won a pleasure driving championship in the pony division. Later after growing to horse size she competed in a pair with her full brother Beaverwoods Oakley. Together these two horses won more than 40 Championships in Pleasure Driving & Combined Driving. They went to Germany in 1997 to represent Canada at the World Championships and placed 11th in cones and 21st overall out of 75 competitors. In 1998 they won Grand Champion at Walnut Hill Pleasure Driving Show in Rochester New York. Not many horses are versatile enough to compete at the top level in both combined and pleasure driving. At the same time Birchley was used as a lesson horse in Kirstens riding program and competing in ridden dressage as well. In 1998 Birchley started her career in the single horse division. She won Grand Champion at Walnut Hill again in 2001, and then represented Canada again at the World Singles Championships in Conty France. In France she placed 9th in cones and 14th overall. Birchley is now a retiree and has had 3 lovely foals, Cedar, Mistral, and Sunflower. Birchley is expecting a foal in 2010 by Beaverwoods Goblyn. All her offspring have the same lovely, kind temperment and amazing ground covering trot that Birchley was so famous for. Kirsten and Birchley were also Runabout Champion at Walnut Hill 6 times, a feat no one else has acomplished! More Photos
